Boots Care Instructions

Boots take more abuse and are replaced more often than most tactical gear. Every step, shift, and long day puts stress on the materials, making proper use and routine care essential to reduce unnecessary wear and extend their lifespan.

Care Tips

  1. Always unlace your boots before taking them off to protect the heel and stitching.
  2. Remove insoles regularly to air them out, reducing odor and moisture buildup.
  3. Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Avoid heat and damp for long term storage.
  4. Never put your boots in the washing machine or the tumble dryer.

How to Clean Boots

  1. Wipe down dirt or mud with a damp cloth. Use a soft brush to remove dust and debris from seams, stitching, and creases. Avoid soap or harsh chemicals. A small amount of water is usually sufficient.
  2. If your boots get wet, allow them to air dry at room temperature after cleaning. Keep them away from direct heat sources such as heaters or hair dryers, as excessive heat can crack the leather and damage adhesives.
  3. Every few months, apply a leather conditioner to keep the material soft and prevent drying or cracking. Pay extra attention to flex points where the boot bends, as these areas are most prone to wear.

How to Polish Boots

If your boots have polishable leather, use a neutral or matching color shoe polish. Apply a thin layer with a cloth or applicator and let it dry. After drying, buff with a horsehair brush or soft cloth. Repeat thin layers of polish for a deeper shine.
